The Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of computer hardware, software systems, and network and cloud infrastructure. This includes physical and virtual servers, private and public cloud infrastructure, switches and any other technology required for MasterControl. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all systems related to the MasterControl Cloud platform.


Administers and maintains critical cloud customer systems, including disk subsystems and affiliated servers and infrastructure
Provides support and maintenance of network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor networks to ensure their availability to customers
Design, test, certify and document new systems, environments and cloud services
Prioritize and resolve problems as they arise and notify management of potential problems, as necessary, pertaining to software and network functionality
Monitor, support, configure and physically build systems; support other engineering team members as needed in their work
Identifies, prioritizes, documents and resolves reported problems including server hardware/software and application performance issues as they arise
Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots and repairs server systems, hardware and computer peripherals as needed
Manages and maintains storage area network systems used in virtual environment
Manages backup and recovery systems in all cloud services environments, including AWS.
Ability to partner with other Sr. engineers across the infrastructure stack to ensure an end to end effective and high performing infrastructure is delivered to meet technical requirements
Understands various hardware and software based firewall architectures and network/cloud security concepts
Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules and an understanding of business decisions
Time management, attention to detail, expectation setting and organizational skills to provide solid service management and process improvement
Strong service oriented team player but able to work independently
Responsible for maintaining and deploying systems via automated methods
Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure timely resolution
Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups
Provides end user training where required
Other projects and tasks as assigned

Strong understanding of virtualization technologies with VMWare hypervisor 5.1 or later a plus
Automation, build/provisioning processes, workload automation and virtualization capacity management concepts
Amazon AWS system deployments (EC2, EBS, S3, ELB)
Network attached disk subsystems (NetApp, EMC, etc) using iISCSI and NFS
Microsoft Server 2008 or later administration (AD, DNS, GPO)
Microsoft SQL 2008 Server or later administration.
HA/Load balancing for Windows Server and SQL Server
PowerShell or similar automation/scripting languages.
Brocade or Cisco switches.
Virtual Private Networks
Information Security best practices
Understands various hardware and software based firewall architectures and network/cloud security concepts
Network troubleshooting skills (ping, tracert, etc)
Operations management and monitoring tools (Nagios, Icinga, etc)
Ability to take on projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Strong documentation skills


5+ years of hands-on IT experience, preferably supporting a diverse set of systems infrastructure technologies and administration
Certification or equivalent experience in multiple operating systems and/or virtualization
BA/BS degree perfered
Security and compliance training such as ITIL, PCI, ISO 27001 or SOX perfered


Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as servers, computers and peripherals.
On-call availability, including weekends
